The Town of Dover Tax Collector accepts debit/credit card payments for Dutchess County Town and County Real Property Bills.

There is a convenience fee charged by a third-party vendor for this service.

The third-party vendor convenience fees are:

Electronic check $1.75 per transaction

Visa, Master Card & Discover Card: 2.45% of total tax payment

Visa Debit: $3.95

Payments submitted following receipt of a tax bill through February 28th, 2026 are credited without penalty.

Payments due on a weekend or legal holiday are acceptable as timely the following business day. 

Standard Penalty Schedule:

March 1 – March 31 - 2% penalty

April 1 - April 30 - 3% penalty

May 1 – May 31 - 4% penalty plus a $1.00 notice fee

*When the last day for collection falls on a weekend or legal holiday, payments post marked or paid online the next following business day will be accepted.

 

After June 2nd, all unpaid taxes are remanded to the Dutchess County Commissioner of Finance, 22 Market St, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
